The side effects…..

…of this venture for me are several.   It requires I  confront a few of my life style issues, but not the ones you’d think. I can’t procrastinate—I have  to run at least  3-4 times a week to ensure I successfully run and complete the race in July.   And I need to  plan ahead to  get those long runs in each week.   This isn’t something I can postpone and cram at the end which I have a tendency to do.     A few improved  life  habits may be a  side benefit to this, but   for now, I”m simply allowing myself to enjoy the journey.   I also have  noticed when I haven’t had  enough sleep the night before  or had that extra glass of wine–a seemingly  minor behavior which has minimal impact on my daily life. But,  when the system is pushed, the effect of these behaviors are  noticeable.    Hmmmm…perhaps  this is more than just a run for me.
