I just read a great statistic in one of my running magazines. Nearly 25% of all runners registered for a 1/2 marathon don’t even show up the day of the race. Now this is the best part—-of those who do start, 95% finish the 1/2 marathon! This is such a life lesson. How often do we worry or complain about “failing” or our not succeeding at something. Odds are we didn’t show up in the first place. Think about it. Crossing the Finish Line
I did it! I finished my 2nd 1/2 Marathon on Oct 4th when Kathie and I together crossed the Finish Line at the San Jose Rock N Roll event! And what a fabulous event it was! Once again, I realized things are certainly better shared—this run no exception. My excited friend and I took light rail and arrived downtown San Jose at 6:30am at this huge event, experiencing all the pre-race activities. At 8am, the starting gun was fired, and we were off! We ran within sight of one another the entire race and ultimately crossed the finish line together–so encouraging and supportive! It was…

Let the race begin…I’m ready!
The race is tomorrow morning and I’m both excited and nervous. I could tell, as my sleep was a bit erratic last night. Yesterday, I went to see Nancy Burns, Valley Acupuncture, for my pre-race energy tune-up. I did this before my big race, and I truly believe it helps with energy and my muscles. My friend and fellow runner, Kathie, is coming over shortly and we’ll head to the Race check-in to pick up our packets. They are expecting nearly 20,000 to run/walk tomorrow at the San Jose Rock’nRoll 1/2 Marathon, so should be both fun and crowded. Nice to see so many people…
