Microblog Monday #14 High Anxiety

My anxiety was high last week. Once again, I learned gratitude, kindness, humor and good  conversation help calm me. Gratitude for all those I love and all that I have. Kindness towards others, and especially towards myself right now.  Laughing at some great classic comedies and outstanding comedy specials (pre-Covid especially) lightened my spirit.  (There is scientific proof that laughter boosts the immune system and can help reduce anxiety or depression.)  I reached out to several friends and enjoyed wonderful conversations and felt more connected and less isolated.  These aren’t cures, but they helped reduce my anxiety.

Anxiety, depression and other mental health issues are affecting millions every day.  Don’t discount what you’re feeling, rather address it and get help if you need to. Resources are available.
