#ThursdayThoughts: Move from the Winter Blahs to a Brighter Spring, I have a few ideas….

“In the depth of winter, I finally learned that within me there lay an invincible summer.”
—Albert Camus

If I were to color my mood these past several weeks, it would be gray. Not surprising, it’s been rainy, cold and overcast for nearly six weeks. Yesterday was a bright sunny exception–a break in our storm pattern. My mood shifted and I felt lighter and had more energy than I have in weeks.

As the sun shines brighter and days are longer, I am again reminded life is cyclical and ever-changing. The transition from winter’s quiet, gray energy to the vibrant, colorful days of spring is a powerful symbol of renewal and growth. Bulbs have broken through the cold soil and trees are beginning to blossom.

Nature is always an inspiring teacher,  Just as I see nature re-awaken, I feel a renewed sense of purpose and energy within. I hope the same is true for you.

Here are three mini-adventures to get you out and dust off the winter blahs and try something new.

  1.  Explore secret (or not so secret gardens) in your area. Created by kindred nature lovers, walk their garden paths through living history. You may even get some ideas to bring home to your own garden.
  2. Visit a local planetarium and gaze up at the spring night sky in all it’s sparkling wonder.
  3.  Dine al fresco and explore the best food trucks in your area. They are a cultural food phenomenon for families and foodies alike.

If you have ideas or suggestions of local adventuring and getting out of the winter blahs,  please let me know…
