    #MicroblogMonday 24–Put Yourself on Your To-Do List

“We need to do a better job of putting ourselves higher on our own “to-do” list.” –Michelle Obama. After I read this, I looked at my to-do list. I was nowhere on the list. Projects, activities, and the needs of others were nicely written and numbered. I use my lists to prioritize my life, so what does that say about where I am as a priority? Hmm…. So I made a few changes. Enjoy a cup of afternoon tea. Call a friend. Read for pleasure for one hour. Take a walk. That’s much better!

    #MicroblogMonday 23–Making Progress

“You don’t make progress by standing in the shadows, whimpering and complaining. You make progress by implementing ideas.” –Shirley Chisholm. There is much to do and each of us has the power, wisdom, and influence to make changes in the world today. Refuse to stand in the shadows or sit on the sidelines of life. Find something you care deeply about and do something. Say something. Do something. It matters.

    #MicroblogMonday 21—Beginner’s Mind

“A beginner’s mind is curious and open to life’s possibilities…and most likely will be uncomfortable at first.” Uncomfortable for several reasons. We are not yet proficient when we begin something new. Our confidence may have left the room as we struggle with self-doubt, our perfectionism, and our inner critic who whispers about how crazy we are to even be doing the thing. These are all normal. Feel the fear and just do it. Action is an antidote to fear. Bring your sense of humor, your compassion for yourself, and above all the willingness to feel uncomfortable.
